KnoxWorx, a program of Knoxville Leadership Foundation, is a workforce development initiative serving youth and adults in and around Knoxville, Tennessee. Driven by the desire to serve the unemployed members of the Knoxville community, three area churches (Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Concord Church, and Faith Promise Church) created KnoxWorx in 2010.
In 2012 the founding churches, recognizing that Knoxville Leadership Foundation (KLF) shared their vision of connecting people to resources, enlisted KLF to provide the leadership, resources and energy needed to ensure that KnoxWorx can realize its full potential. The original vision is still the driving force today as KLF expands the KnoxWorx network to more area churches, employer partners, mentors and caring individuals. KLF’s vision and mission is to reach deeply into our community to serve and connect people with resources.
KLF’s KnoxWorx program uses a unique approach to help individuals find employment, focusing not only on career planning and job search training, but on “soft skills,” including responsibility, communication, and leadership within a supportive and encouraging environment. Our goal is to allow individuals to explore and maximize their God-given talents supporting themselves and their families through meaningful work.
